From our Chairman, Virginia Morris.

Do you wish to:

1) Promote world peace?
2) Advance human rights?
3) Protect the environment?
4) Improve race relations?
5) Fight world poverty?
6) Support culture?

It is recognised within the UN there is a need for change, as with all humanitarian institutes, there are imperfections. By joining us you can be a part of making those changes. As we are independently funded from the UN we are there to scrutinise their work. Each year we have a conference to lay down what we believe the UN needs to focus on or change in order to be more effective.

Becoming involved with TRUNA has opened up great opportunities to make a difference. Please do join us.

What does UNA-UK do?
(This section taken from www.una.org.uk)

Through the work of our staff, volunteers and members, we campaign and educate to promote the principles of the UN Charter and to support the work of the UN and its agencies.
UNA-UK is a non-party political organisation. Our head office in Whitehall Court, London provides policy expertise to support the advocacy work of UNA-UK members. It maintains an ongoing dialogue with UK government ministers, parliamentarians and the media on issues relating to the UN. UNA-UK wants to promote multilateralism and adherence to international law through four policy programmes:

Education lies at the heart of our work. Only through education and public awareness and pressure can effective, lasting change be achieved. To this end UNA-UK provides support and materials for those interested in organising Model UN events and provides resources for people wanting to develop their knowledge of the UN system and activities.

If you would like more information about joining TRUNA please contact our Secretary, Olivia Richardson (Contacts).
Alternatively please just come along to one of our events as publicised in our latest Newsletter.
We look forward to meeting you.
