| Twickenham and Ricmond UNA has worked with many different schools in the Borough of Richmond, both private and state, and over many years. These typically finish with a grand event, normally a Model General Assembly or a Model Security Council meeting. The issues discussed and debated include Poverty, Water, Child Labour and Globalisation. UNA have organised local MP Vince Cable and also well known inventor Trevor Baylis to introduce the UN to the students. | ![]() |

UNA typically provide schools with theoretical underpinning as well as practical assistance with organisation of resources and research plus preparation and chairing of the final event. Seeing students enthusiastically engaging in world negotiation to solve problems like poverty is intrinsically highly rewarding. | |||||||||
| UNA Twickenham and Richmond were highly influential in the Government's decision to include the UN in the mandatory Citizenship syllabus for state schools. The syllabus requirements are met very well by UNA's program which includes research and analysis of information from several sources, development of arguments, making ethical judgements, negotiaton and persuasive speaking. | ![]() |
