A pub lunch and talk and a garden party were recent branch events where food, drink, good company and conversation all mixed well.
Chairman Virginia Morris receives the Stevens trophy on behalf of the Branch in April 2008. The Stevens trophy is awarded by the London & South East Region's Committee to branches which are seen as being particularly active and successful. This is the fifth time that Twickenham & Richmond have won the trophy.
Zac Goldsmith, Director and ex-Editor for 10 years of The Ecologist gave a fascinating talk to the Branch in April 2008 entitled "Making a Difference Locally" with challenges for all about climate change. Full details are in the June Newsletter.
UNA-UK's Conference, the 63rd, was held in Exeter and was attended for the first time by Virginia Morrs and Colin Bell, plus Sam Trevelyan who has attended Conference many times before. UNA-UK Chairman Lord Hannay particulalrly thanked Virginia for the "valuable discussions."
Late in 2007 the Branch welcomed former BBC correspondent and former independent MP Martin Bell and his talk entitled "Reflections on War & Peace."

The Branch collects on behalf of charities including Adopt-A-Minefield (now called 'No More Landmines') and UNICEF, often holding a stall at the Twickenham Green Charities Fair. The first Branch UN Model General Assembly was run at York House and had (now, Sir) Trevor McDonald as chairman.
